In my opinion, Brendon went above and beyond in service and we are so pleased.We also had Dakota Ruff come out to give us an estimate on a whole home generator and he was FANTASTIC. He was funny and knowledgeable and he also went above and beyond in service.Then we had Ethan, Trent, AJ, and Chris come out to install a whole home generator. The whole crew worked hard all day but were excellent about walking us through the process and any questions we had. The install looks fantastic! I realized this visit, while talking to Ethan, what truly sets Davis apart from everyone else and it's the amount of time and focus they give you during your appointment. They come to do a job and wont quit until the job is done but even more so they want to make sure that they understand the customer and the customer feels heard.Our whole experience with Davis has been so wonderful. He gave me additional information on how to best prevent this from occurring in the future. My issue occurred on the weekend and he came within a couple hours. This is my first experience and where do I even start. We were recommended by a friend to contact Davis heating and Air and I’m so glad I did. With the first call from Chris to let me know that he was on his way he stated that he was only 20 min out and was currently at the gas station he offered to pick me up a coffee. I don’t drink coffee however the pure thought and nice gesture I just knew it was going to be a great interaction. We have owned our home for about five years and never had our unit serviced. When calling around There wasn’t many people that would work on oil heating units as most of them want to work on gas…..with my husband making me be here for when they showed up I was out of my league as I had no clue of anything. however Chris was very kind, respectful, and very patient as I would keep calling my husband for information. He showed me exactly what was wrong and did not judge me for the issue we had caused to the unit for allowing our oil to suck up sludge. He was very professional and personable and made me feel at ease and was very quick to fix my problem. Thank you Chris for all you did and for making the process seem simple. Because of him we now signed up for Home guard. I def. Will recommend this company because of the exceptional service that was provided!

I called to get an estimate on a job that had been previously quoted by another company just to see if the price was reasonable or not. I found out that the other company was doubling the price of the $800 part that was needed. Nikki C. told me that her company only adds 15% onto the parts original price. The 15% markup on a part that was close to $800 =($920) is a lot better than $800 x 2 ($1600) just for the part . I did not use Davis because the part was on back ordered and I needed to find one that someone had in stock on their shelf. I did realize that the original quote was astronomical to what I should’ve been paying for the entire job. I appreciate Nikki C. being so helpful in explaining to me what part number I actually needed and enlightening me on the pricing that would be considered a fair amount for the entire job.

We have been more than happy with everything Davis has done for us since we first called them for a generator quote. We met with Brent to discuss thr possibility of installing a generator at my mother's home. Today Dakota Ruff came out to our resident in Rocky mount. And boy would I tell you he has the best customer service ever 🥰 Friendly ,kind and help with the situation of having no heat. I take care of veteran here he helped us get a new system which will be installed this Saturday at a decent price we also have awful internet out here so it took some time with getting approved and the phones hanging up he was just real patient, kind and his knowledge of his job is impeccable . I HIGHLY recommend if you need a new heat system or water pump asking for him because we will definitely be getting a new hot water heater next.. Way to go Dakota you rock at your job thanks for being an Phenomenal salesman.

I am happy to have selected Davis for my heating, plumbing, and air conditioning at Smith Mountain Lake. So far, Davis has done three jobs for me, and I am satisfied with the results and pricing. In particular, Daniel and Isaac did a great job installing a new HVAC for me. They are hardworking, knowledgeable, and very efficient as a team. Again, I am glad to have access to Davis in my area and would select them again with 100% confidence.
Update 2: Davis ended up sending a whole team out within just a few days to swap out the entire combi boiler unit rather than just the parts that had failed initially. The team stayed as long as they could to make sure the lines were clear and everything was running correctly this time. Really appreciated the thoroughness this time and everything’s been running great so far. Just waiting for one more visit to finish sealing up the exhaust pipes through the foundation and some other odds and ends (nest thermostat, etc.)Update 1: Techs checked it out over the weekend and reported a fitting on the radiant heat side of the boiler cracked (a day after installation) but couldn’t determine why until it was removed. However, they can’t remove it until they get a replacement fitting otherwise the radiators would drain and flood the basement. Until then we are without heat but can still use hot water. That all said, unfortunately the next morning after install the unit made a strange noise while the radiators heated up and we used a kitchen faucet.. we discovered water all over the floor and the unit box itself leaking water from several locations. Davis is very good at scheduling and being in communication. The estimates and options given were helpful. Shaun worked through some details before he started work. He and his helper carried out the dishwasher installation quickly and efficiently.
Our heat pump stopped working after Davis’ hours of normal service. Robert, the technician on call, responded in a timely fashion even though he was an hour away on another call. Robert identified the issue quickly and was able to provide a temporary remedy until a part could be obtained. Robert kept us informed throughout the process, was courteous, empathetic and very knowledgeable.
Travis installed new plumbing throughout our home. He is very experienced, knowledgeable, respectful, courteous, and explains everything he is doing as he works. We are very pleased with Travis and his plumbing skills. Thankyou for all of your hard work Travis. My family and I have peace of mind in the plumbing in our home.
Sam was our technician that came out today. He was very professional, explained every step of what he was doing to fix our problem and gave extra tips on how to be more efficient. They responded with a few minutes of my phone call and the technician was at our house with in a hour. We have used Davis heating and plumming for several years are they are the best in the Smith Mountain lake area. Best of all, their prices are very reasonable. Could not ask for a better plumming and heating company to use.

Robert was awesome, knowledgeable, professional and most importantly very friendly . we came home on a Friday night to a dead AC unit and 85 degrees inside, the next morning started looking for an AC repair company with high reviews and sure thing Davis Heating and air popped up, I made the call and within an hour Robert was in our driveway taking care of the problem. So many good things to say about Mr. Travis Jarrell and his team today but to sum it all up they were very knowledgeable and professional. We had a main water line break and after calling out five different plumbing companies for a quote I decided to go with Davis Heating and Plumbing. My A/C went out two days ago and we're seeing highs in the mid 90's this week. I called Davis Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric first thing the next morning and they were here by noon and had my A/C back on by 2:00. The technician was super friendly and efficient and kept me informed every step of the way. I honestly was prepared to have to wait a week for parts to come in but they had everything they needed to do the repair. I could not be more pleased with the service I received and can't recommend them highly enough!
Came back to change my review after 2 years. The company itself does good quality work and has people who genuinely care about the company.However, they secure loans through synchrony bank and their sales people hide the fine print of the loans. I have paid on time every month for 2 years and my loan amount is not increasing. I cannot in good faith support a company that sells people loans that have a 26% interest rate hidden in the fine print on a 0% APR contract.

I’ve had Davis Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric out on two separate occasions, once for heat pump repair and once for an attic fan evaluation. Both times were excellent experiences. Chris B. did an awesome job diagnosing and repairing my heat pump issues. The cost was also much more fair than the quoted cost from a competitor. For the attic fan evaluation, Ethan and Brendon were excellent. They evaluated our current system and made fair recommendations based off their experience. It was refreshing to see a company that doesn’t invent issues in order to upsell you when you don’t need it. I would highly recommend Davis to anyone and will definitely use them again in the future!
Our Heating and Air Conditioning unit was not cooling, we called Davis and they responded the next day. The technician, Brandon, was very professional and knowledgeable of the situation. We decided to put in a new system because ours was old, so Kevin came out and help us to make a good decision and choose a system that would best work for us. Kevin was extremely nice, and he did not pressure us into a system with him. He gave us several options for systems and financial options. The installers, Christian and David came the next day and put in our system. Those young men got the job done in one day. They were persistent to get our system in and running. Christian made sure I understood our system and he was very patient to make sure I didn't have any unanswered questions. They made sure no mess was left behind in nor outside of my home. I had a new system installed within 3 days, that is amazing, we really thought it would take weeks. Thank you Davis for such great customer service!
We came home to a floor full of water in our hot water heater closet. Water was pouring out of our filtration system, so we immediately turned off the water main. We just moved into our house in September and called the company on the magnet of the hot water heater, not knowing any service providers in the area. That company told us they could see us in mid-January! When I asked if they could send any after hour service, I was told there was no room to see me and others in the area also had issues they were dealing with. I did a quick Google search and called Davis. It was after hours and not only was their answering service amazing, kind, understanding, and attentive, I heard back from the on-call plumber, Alex, within 15 minutes. He was out in an hour and was professional, quick, thorough, and had us up and running in under an hour. 100% recommend!

They are very prompt in responding to your call about a problem. We called with an AC problem and they sent a tech out that day. The tech was Dakota and he was an extremely nice and knowledgeable young man. He explained all of our options and stayed until he could get all the answers we needed. This is a good company to deal with and the people are extremely courteous and friendly.
I called Davis because we had an issue with a weird smell coming through our air vents shortly after moving into our new home. The representative and dispatcher took time to understand my issue and demonstrated urgency with coming out first thing the next morning.Daniel called me on his way out and asked me a ton of questions to ensure he understood what was happening, especially since I wouldn’t be there (my mom was).Daniel went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Upon initial inspection, he couldn’t uncover the root cause. This is where most people would have stopped and just said “we can’t help you.” Not him! He used his knowledge and expertise to look at every possible issue. He was able to provide us with two possibilities of cause and took care of the first one while he was here. He then called me to ensure I understood what he did and talk about the second possible cause if I noticed any issues going forward.I will NEVER use any other company. I generally do not participate in surveys, however the experience I’ve had with this company was absolutely amazing. The ladies at the office were a complete pleasure to deal with and the Tech’s Joshua and Adam were The most professional, knowledgeable and humble guy's that I have ever dealt with professionally. We had to order a part Adam went to Roanoke pick the part up and come straight back to our house to get our air condition fixed in the middle of a heat wave, and the news said the real feel yesterday was 108°. My elderly mother lives with us and has health problems, these guys took that very serious and got us taken care of. Adam made two trips to the house and I absolutely cannot say enough good things about both of these guys ! I would recommend this company to anyone and we will always go to Davis heating and air for maintenance and emergencies !! Dakota was great. He called to let me know he was on his way and how long before he arrived. He went above and beyond to explain why he recommended to have the ducts cleaned, he even showed me pictures, and because of him, a possible fire hazard was identified. I asked the cost of cleaning ducts and was surprised that the quote wasn't much higher. Within 24 hours the appointment was scheduled in just a few days out. Quick and easy! Dakota was also thorough and took the time to explain exactly what was going on, I never felt rushed or pressured and it was definitely not sales driven. I would recommend Davis and definitely Dakota to anyone needing their services.
Davis Heating sent someone for same day service, even though I called at 530pm. They offer non-emergency service until 8pm. Daniel was the tech that responded and he picked up the needed parts, and had the issue repaired the next day. He also responded to calls and texts promptly. We were pleased with the service overall.
David and Alex, put in new commode and kitchen faucet today.They were on time, did excellent work in a timely manner. Cleaned up and carried out the old commode for us. They also Put in a new water pressure tank last May for us. Both times they were so sweet and kind. Clayton and I feel like the are our family now. Recently had two new systems installed. Excellent service from initial estimates through installation. The entire Davis Heating & Air team is personable, capable, competent, and professional. I contacted Davis early on this Friday morning and Alex and Derek responded at 11:30. I had pooling water in my bathroom and didn't know the cause. They quickly identified the issue and kindly repaired it. They were very reasonably priced and so friendly! I'm glad to know Davis and will use them again.

Dan came out on a Saturday afternoon. Arrived promptly Was very friendly and knowledgeable about the problem. He corrected the Issue and left with heat working which was a great relief to me. Would recommend. We had just had a service visit from Davis yesterday and thought it was fixed but problem arose again so they had to return today. We were not charged the visit fee, only the labor fee. Hope the furnace behaves and this is a long term fix!! We have used this company for years.
My humidifier was not working. Wonderful service and repair. We love Davis Heating and especially Cameron. He did a fabulous job, fixing our error with thermostat installation and the previous install of new heat pump(done by a supposedly professional). He discovered the previous installer never hooked up the 2 speed system. I would definitely recommend Davis Heating and I will be using them from now on.

I had a problem with my heat pump and coil. Cameron came out and checked everything out for me and explained what was going on and what the options were. Although, it wasn't the news I wanted to hear (unable to get parts for repair) he explained other options and had the sales consultant (Mike) cone out. Very professional and thorough in the assessment and options for a new unit. I will only deal with Davis.
I highly recommend this company and their employee, Dakota. My air went out the day before (Thursday) and I called several other HVAC companies to schedule an appointment. No call backs or shows!! Called Davis Heating and air Friday morning at 8:30am, made contact with business, woman answered call (sorry don't remember her name) took my request, told me Dakota (technician) would call me a little after 10 to come by. At 10:20am, Dakota called, was here at 10:30am. He was very professional and knowledgeable of problem and repaired issue quickly and precisely. I will be calling this company if I am in need again!!!

Our basement flooded with possible damage to our new water heater. Davis came to check and found the water heater suffered no damage and were back the next morning to install a sump pump. They are efficient and courteous. I recommend them to everyone for heating, AC and plumbing.

Even though it was late in the afternoon, he stayed late to ensure the problem was fixed so we would be cool during these peak summer days. We called because it was reaching 80 degrees. The first time I called I was told there was a glitch with our heat pump, but he felt it was resolved. The second time it was a control board issue--possibly. The third time a capacitor issue. The fourth and LAST time the technician couldn't understand why the issue wasn't fixed the third time. We had a service contract and they were supposed to come out 24/7, that didn't happen. The ad claims they can service any system. We called several times and they didn't fix the issue and the manager wasn't very helpful. The tech that came on the weekend had no knowledge about any of our heat pump issues. When I asked the manager why the technician wasn't aware of the possible control board issue, he claimed the techs didn't have access to any reports on the weekend.After DH&AC DROPPED us, we called another company. They came out 1X and found the issues and solved the problem.We just purchased this house, apparently the people who owned it had dogs. The following pictures of the dirty air filter and hair are why the air system was sometimes working well, and other times not at all. The bottom line: it was SIMPLE and they couldn't solve the issue.They wasted a ton of our time.
They will fleece the unsuspecting customer. Davis will provide great service and great follow through. However.. I needed a coil in my attic and was sold a $2500 entire new system for almost $7000. I took it as I am new to heat pumps and was naive. For full warranty, I have to pay hundreds more per year. Or, its on me.They sent me an annual “tune up offer” for $79 on my other unit… $1000 later.. I got a $100 fan motor and a $40 capacitor (off the truck) that I likely did not need. $653 flat to change a 1/6 -1/2 hp motor. Oh wait.. my motor is 1/10hp. So, $140 worth of parts, a couple hours labor for $1000. Nice people, well polished sales. Keep looking.
We were looking to establish a biannual maintenance contract with a reputable HVAC company. A few of our neighbors recommended Davis Heating & Air. They are awesome. Betsy and Sarah were very helpful and easy to reach when we had a schedule conflict. Adam called ahead and was on time at 8 am. He took extra time explaining my new system to me. He suggested that I watch him so I could ask any questions along the way. I thought okay, I didn't think I would, but I did have a few questions. Adam, glad you recommended it. He was very professional, very respectful and very knowledgeable. Their contract fee is very reasonable too. We are looking forward to a long and healthy relationship!

Cameron M did a great job, Had problems with system for a year and 4 months after install, 8 trips or so out here for problems. Cameron M came out asked the correct questions. And did a very through system check. He found there was an pinhole leak in the Freon line going into the house. He showed it to me so I would know. I had taken out the extended warranty because all the problems I have had, Now I feel the system was installed correctly and maybe will not to call Davis for service every 2-3 month for not working. Cameron is a great Service Technician and really knows his work. Please give him a good repayment for all his work.
Finally decided to get a tankless water heater. Chris made the initial contact and follow up was with Alex. They prepared an estimate and explained the process. Scheduling was quick and the installation was complete within days of the estimate. Chris, David, and Alex arrived when expected, cleaned up after themselves, and explained the use of the water heater. I will definitely call them for my future plumbing needs. Great job guys!
Jonathan Burns was very pleasant and professional throughout the entire experience. Though it was not good news, he was very helpful in coming up with multiple options on how to approach fixing/replacing my unit. I have a sales rep coming Monday to discuss pricing of a new unit. Depending on that I may repair or replace. I would highly recommend working with Jonathan. Very polite young man.
They were quick to respond, very polite and made the repair I needed. The techs did not leave a mess for me to clean up. The temperature was in the 30's so I appreciated the prompt response and the fast repair. I will be calling again if I have any more repairs to be done.
John Stone went above and beyond to get our system serviced when we notified him our unit wasn’t working. Freddy came out and assessed the issue, fixed it and got us going quickly. Little did we know that would be short lived and we had to contact John again this time after hours on the same day. We had another technician Johnny show up and trouble shoot the issue, Freddy had accidentally tripped the breaker when placing the door back on the unit. He was very professional and had the unit running again in no time. He stayed and ran the unit through several cycles and talked with us about options for a new unit when it becomes necessary. John followed back up with us to make sure the issue was fixed and that we were satisfied with the service. I signed up for the semiannual service tune up and this was the first visit. Very pleased with Seth’s attention to detail and great attitude. I had a couple of things that I asked him to check out and he took care of them without hesitation. Davis does a good job of hiring and training their staff. All encounters have been very positive.

I had a good experience with Davis for a new heat pump purchase and install. I had 23 year old unit. The air conditioning wasn't working at all in a stretch of 90-100 degree weather. Two window airs were running non stop . I had an appointment with them on a Monday and my install was done that Friday. Great experience from my purchase from John S. to my installation with Luke N. and Nick H. John was knowledgeable and explained things I needed to know about a new purchase. Luke and Nick installed that new unit in a very hot yard and house. They were very professional and explained how to operate the unit before they left. I was happy to get quick service on replacing a heat pump right before it got really hot. Everything is running fine now. I also was pleasantly surprised that the entire process took only 1/2 a day; I was expecting more like a day for the whole procedure.

Having not been made aware of the benefit of UV light in addressing mold issues, and environmental conditions that stimulate its growth, we had mold growing in our "top-of-the-line system" in less than 5 years of service. Nevertheless, Davis Heating & Air provided outstanding response, having their Service Pro (Dakota Ruff) remove the mold, and install at a reasonable cost a UV lamp to prevent future mold issues. Dakota responded punctually, and very professionally explaining and responding to all my questions and concerns. Five star service, very pleased.
Love Davis! They were wonderful from start to finish. When our AC went out this summer they sent out a tech, then a wonderful salesman when we realized I needed a new system. He didn't oversell or pressure me into buying more than I needed. Recently, I've had some issues with the heat as cold weather settles in (not related to anything they did or caused) and they came out on the same day I placed the call, and even went out of the way to work around my schedule so I didn't have to miss work. All the techs are friendly and knowledgeable, as well as extremely careful in the house while climbing in the attic and carrying ladders around. Would definitely recommend and will continue to use them!

Great guys to call! I had no AC and called them. They came over that day to check out my heat pump; said it was fine so they checked my Freon levels where were also good. Checked my attic and said I did not have enough insulation up there which could be the problem. Nice to see that they did not try to sell me a new pump or fiddle with my pump and fix something that was not broken. Honest crew to call! Highly recommend them!!!
