After calling for HVAC service (for no A/C) for our recently acquired 25 year old system, we received a quick response from Davis. Our first tech Chris came out, trouble shot the no A/C issue, and repaired the improperly wired thermostat right away. He gave us an estimate on the needs of the current system that he saw but suggested a consultation for a complete review as it was a lot to invest in an older system. A few days later, Mike came out and offered multiple options to update our two systems, including financing opportunities (I need to emphasize there was never any pressure offering "today only" pricing, been through that before!). We were fortunate, the systems we chose to upgrade with, Davis had in stock (one dual fuel & one heat pump) and within a week crews were available to install.
Fast forward 5 days; the original plan was for a two day install, one for each floor. The day before day one install, Davis staff called and asked if they could do both units in one day? Worked for us! The install crew(s) that arrived were on time as scheduled, all were very polite, each one made sure they introduced themselves, and they focused on their work and finished all the work within their scheduled 8 hours. I cannot praise them enough, no mess or any debris left behind, they even vacuumed the carpet in the bedroom where the attic access is.
We are happy with Davis services and are pleased to recommend them to others!

Great, prompt service. We had a fine young man come out on Saturday with his lovely dog. He was very professional, courteous and took care of the issue for us. He even took the time to greet my grandchildren that we had over this weekend! Great touch! Will use again

Sam and devin were awesome! Explained in detail and advised the best options. Even came back the same day to do minor adjustment as my preference! Would recommend to anyone.

Came to inspect my plumbing and explained that I had a leak. He does a good job at explaining the problem and gives you the best options to remedy the problem. He was able to come out the very next day changed out the old water heater with a new one and took care of all necessary repairs in a timely manner. Micheal did an awesome job. Didn't catch the guys name that was assisting him but wanted to say thanks again for quality work!

We had a new Ruud furnace installed in our house. The two gentlemen - Daniel Lawson and Donovan Lewis did an exceptional job. Very curtious, diligent , respectful of our curious cat, and left everything clean and neatly done. Would highly recommend Davis for all your heating and air needs.

Very enjoyable and personable service with Damien and David. Most of the time, trade work involves someone coming to your house, working on your issue, collecting the money and leaving. I felt like Damien and David took the time to discuss my options and were very personable in conversation outside of the task at hand..which was refreshing. Based on my experiences, I plan on using Davis for my future plumbing needs at my home and recommend them to anyone! Thanks again!

Came home from work to find a busted water heater. My husband wasn’t home and called around to find a plumber. Travis came out and gone the job done that night. He was so professional and kept me in good spirit throughout it all. Highly recommend Travis and Davis.

Travis did a great job diagnosing may problem. I needed a new well pump. He was on time, explained what I needed to do, and did a professional job. Great technician with a wonderful personality.

Daniel came out to check on my furnace that had stopped heating. He arrived within about two hours of my call, and was so polite. He explained what he was doing as he was check in for the issue. He was able to detect and fix the issue quickly. He also notice carbon dioxide detector in my home and suggested where it should be moved for maximum efficiency. I would definitely want Daniel back if I need assistance in the future.

Fantastic service with a smile, Damien and Devan were a treat to have at the house, while they were working on our water heater, filtration, and softener systems. Was their oldest filtration system replace yet, at nearly 25 years old.

Damian, Devan, and Michael replaced our 10-year-old water heater with a new Navien tankless unit and installed a Water Right Impression Plus water softener. Our hard water was taking a toll on our faucets and appliances, so they installed a new kitchen faucet and a fridge water line at no charge for labor. Highly professional and detail oriented. They were also very clear in explaining the new equipment and regular maintenance. It’s great to contract with such skilled and personable plumbers.

I had numerous electric related issues in my house and Brendon and Cameron did an amazing job diagnosing and solving the issues.
I’ve recently found it more challenging to find quality service providers; however, I was very impressed with the quality, speed, and professionalism shown by these gentlemen. I would absolutely recommend Davis to anyone!

We had the best experience with Brendon from Davis! He was friendly and professional, listened to our assessment of the problem, and explained everything he was doing while he was working. In my opinion, Brendon went above and beyond in service and we are so pleased.

We also had Dakota Ruff come out to give us an estimate on a whole home generator and he was FANTASTIC. He was funny and knowledgeable and he also went above and beyond in service.

Then we had Ethan, Trent, AJ, and Chris come out to install a whole home generator. The whole crew worked hard all day but were excellent about walking us through the process and any questions we had. The install looks fantastic! I realized this visit, while talking to Ethan, what truly sets Davis apart from everyone else and it's the amount of time and focus they give you during your appointment. They come to do a job and wont quit until the job is done but even more so they want to make sure that they understand the customer and the customer feels heard.

Our whole experience with Davis has been so wonderful. I highly recommend Davis!

James was very thorough and attentive to my plumbing issue. He went above and beyond to ensure the issue was solved. He gave me additional information on how to best prevent this from occurring in the future. My issue occurred on the weekend and he came within a couple hours. Very pleased with my service from James and everyone at Davis!

James W. was very personable and knowledgeable about the job. He answered all of our questions in a way that was easy to understand. Would certainly recommend and use him again. Arrived within 2 hours of our initial phone call and completed the job that afternoon. He did an outstanding job and is a very qualified technician.

A huge thank you to Hunter and Michael for their expertise, professionalism, and kindness. We had an issue with our tub and sink not draining. They quickly figured out the problem and offered several solutions. They explained everything thoroughly and were happy to answer any questions we had. This is my first experience and where do I even start. We were recommended by a friend to contact Davis heating and Air and I’m so glad I did. With the first call from Chris to let me know that he was on his way he stated that he was only 20 min out and was currently at the gas station he offered to pick me up a coffee. I don’t drink coffee however the pure thought and nice gesture I just knew it was going to be a great interaction. We have owned our home for about five years and never had our unit serviced. When calling around There wasn’t many people that would work on oil heating units as most of them want to work on gas…..with my husband making me be here for when they showed up I was out of my league as I had no clue of anything. however Chris was very kind, respectful, and very patient as I would keep calling my husband for information. He showed me exactly what was wrong and did not judge me for the issue we had caused to the unit for allowing our oil to suck up sludge. He was very professional and personable and made me feel at ease and was very quick to fix my problem. Thank you Chris for all you did and for making the process seem simple. Because of him we now signed up for Home guard. I def. Will recommend this company because of the exceptional service that was provided!

I called to get an estimate on a job that had been previously quoted by another company just to see if the price was reasonable or not. I found out that the other company was doubling the price of the $800 part that was needed. Nikki C. told me that her company only adds 15% onto the parts original price. The 15% markup on a part that was close to $800 =($920) is a lot better than $800 x 2 ($1600) just for the part . I did not use Davis because the part was on back ordered and I needed to find one that someone had in stock on their shelf. I did realize that the original quote was astronomical to what I should’ve been paying for the entire job. I appreciate Nikki C. being so helpful in explaining to me what part number I actually needed and enlightening me on the pricing that would be considered a fair amount for the entire job.

Ethan did a wonderful job! He was serious about his work and wanted to do it right. He was also personable which put me at ease. Not only is my home safer, but is more convenient as well. I took advantage of the financing as I had several electrical projects to complete. The approval process was painless and speedy, and communication was flawless from beginning to end. James from Davis heating and cooling came out to advise about a bathroom project in my home. I am a professional interior designer and have worked with several plumbers on many projects. James was very knowledgable, very professional, and provided a detailed estimate. He answered all of my questions, took the time to review everything I planned to install, and took detailed measurements and checked the weight of my fixtures to ensure that my goals were achievable in the space. Damien M was very knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. He installed a water softening system for us. He was here on time, ready to work answering any and all the questions we had along the way. We have used Davis for all of our Heating/Air and now plumbing needs for the past 3 years. Furnace went out and not only was Davis the only company that returned my call, they showed up right away and shout out to Dakota Ruff - he was fantastic, and thoroughly explained all of my options and helped me through the whole process. We have been more than happy with everything Davis has done for us since we first called them for a generator quote. We met with Brent to discuss thr possibility of installing a generator at my mother's home. He answered all our questions, and his friendliness and professionalism convinced us that we didn't need to look any further for quotes-not to mention the Davis price was highly competitive and fair. The installation team of Cameron (I don't have a last name), Brian Wright and Ethan Novoa was absolutely super! These men were so friendly, explanatory, and helpful from the moment they arrived; my mom couldn't be happier and I couldn't be more impressed. Today Dakota Ruff came out to our resident in Rocky mount. And boy would I tell you he has the best customer service ever 🥰 Friendly ,kind and help with the situation of having no heat. I take care of veteran here he helped us get a new system which will be installed this Saturday at a decent price we also have awful internet out here so it took some time with getting approved and the phones hanging up he was just real patient, kind and his knowledge of his job is impeccable . I HIGHLY recommend if you need a new heat system or water pump asking for him because we will definitely be getting a new hot water heater next.. Way to go Dakota you rock at your job thanks for being an Phenomenal salesman.

Travis was absolutely awesome! He explained everything that needed to be done and was very knowledgeable. He was extremely helpful. But my biggest compliment would be….he was such a polite gentleman. The world needs more like him!

Damien was well-spoken and exhibited a high level of knowledge in the plumbing field. He examined all our plumbing after which he presented to us clearly the issues at hand. He then brought us a written quote of the cost to correct the problems. We accepted his proposal, and he set to work.
He worked diligently. Afterwords he walked us through all the different items he fixed for us.
Damien is a pleasant young man who serves well Davis Heating.

I am happy to have selected Davis for my heating, plumbing, and air conditioning at Smith Mountain Lake. So far, Davis has done three jobs for me, and I am satisfied with the results and pricing. In particular, Daniel and Isaac did a great job installing a new HVAC for me. They are hardworking, knowledgeable, and very efficient as a team. Again, I am glad to have access to Davis in my area and would select them again with 100% confidence.

Update 2: Davis ended up sending a whole team out within just a few days to swap out the entire combi boiler unit rather than just the parts that had failed initially. The team stayed as long as they could to make sure the lines were clear and everything was running correctly this time. Really appreciated the thoroughness this time and everything’s been running great so far. Just waiting for one more visit to finish sealing up the exhaust pipes through the foundation and some other odds and ends (nest thermostat, etc.)

Update 1: Techs checked it out over the weekend and reported a fitting on the radiant heat side of the boiler cracked (a day after installation) but couldn’t determine why until it was removed. However, they can’t remove it until they get a replacement fitting otherwise the radiators would drain and flood the basement. Until then we are without heat but can still use hot water. Waiting now to hear back when it arrives but have noticed the unit is still leaking water continuously whenever we do use hot water and are keeping buckets ready in the basement.

Waiting on tech to show and inspect a new combi boiler install before updating stars. The installation was prompt and took two days by a team of workers who were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. The salesman who talked us through the process and how the unit worked was also professional and helpful. That all said, unfortunately the next morning after install the unit made a strange noise while the radiators heated up and we used a kitchen faucet.. we discovered water all over the floor and the unit box itself leaking water from several locations. Called first thing and waiting for help to arrive. Will also note that the installers were unable to determine how to get the unit to work with my existing thermostat but promised to look into it and return once they figure something out. I’ll update my review when all is said and done but I’m hopeful and looking forward to enjoying our new combi boiler heater.

Davis is very good at scheduling and being in communication. The estimates and options given were helpful. Shaun worked through some details before he started work. He and his helper carried out the dishwasher installation quickly and efficiently.

Our heat pump stopped working after Davis’ hours of normal service. Robert, the technician on call, responded in a timely fashion even though he was an hour away on another call. Robert identified the issue quickly and was able to provide a temporary remedy until a part could be obtained. Robert kept us informed throughout the process, was courteous, empathetic and very knowledgeable.

Travis installed new plumbing throughout our home. He is very experienced, knowledgeable, respectful, courteous, and explains everything he is doing as he works. We are very pleased with Travis and his plumbing skills. Thankyou for all of your hard work Travis. My family and I have peace of mind in the plumbing in our home.

Sam was our technician that came out today. He was very professional, explained every step of what he was doing to fix our problem and gave extra tips on how to be more efficient. They responded with a few minutes of my phone call and the technician was at our house with in a hour. We have used Davis heating and plumming for several years are they are the best in the Smith Mountain lake area. Best of all, their prices are very reasonable. Could not ask for a better plumming and heating company to use.

Robert was awesome, knowledgeable, professional and most importantly very friendly . we came home on a Friday night to a dead AC unit and 85 degrees inside, the next morning started looking for an AC repair company with high reviews and sure thing Davis Heating and air popped up, I made the call and within an hour Robert was in our driveway taking care of the problem. We were up and running in less than an hour.

So many good things to say about Mr. Travis Jarrell and his team today but to sum it all up they were very knowledgeable and professional. We had a main water line break and after calling out five different plumbing companies for a quote I decided to go with Davis Heating and Plumbing. When Travis arrived to give the estimate I could tell he was sharp and knew the right plan to execute for our plumbing. Once the decision was final he was here the next day and got the job done professionally and in an amazing amount of time. Sam Ellis performed my maintenance inspection on 8/8/24. He made several recommendations with estimates that were important and needed. He also completed all recommended services on 8/14 with the addition of a hot water heater installation that I authorized on the same day. He was fantastic and explained everything to me in detail. The expertise and service that Sam provided were unbelievably awesome! I don’t usually leave reviews but I am so pleased that I need to share my experience. My install became complicated due to shoddy & questionable work done by the previous owner. Sam identified the problems, solved & fixed all of them while doing my install. He is very knowledgeable, professional and polite. The customer service he provided was exceptional and he represents the company extremely well! Sam and Dave were absolutely great. They diagnosed our problem quickly which ended up being a bad well pump. They were able to pull and replace the well pump same day. Ethan did an incredible job of explaining how he could make our dock safer and he also did an incredible job completing the work. He was so nice and friendly and we are completely satisfied with the work he did and have comfort knowing our dock is safer. We would highly recommend him!

My A/C went out two days ago and we're seeing highs in the mid 90's this week. I called Davis Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric first thing the next morning and they were here by noon and had my A/C back on by 2:00. The technician was super friendly and efficient and kept me informed every step of the way. I honestly was prepared to have to wait a week for parts to come in but they had everything they needed to do the repair. I could not be more pleased with the service I received and can't recommend them highly enough!

John M. Was a very thorough, professional, and humble service technician. He is great! He takes the time to explain how the heat pump works as well as the issues he finds. He gladly answers questions and does a wonderful job! We would highly recommend John!

So glad I chose this company. I always look at reviews first before calling and I can definitely see why they have such good reviews. Ethan N came out and did a phenomenal job. He didn't leave the residence until he knew things were working, he took his time and made it right. He answered all my questions without hesitation and was very polite. Davis has come through for us several times! Their Techs are always great at communicating, extremely polite and personable. They take the time to explain things and even show you, if they can, what the issue is or what they are going to do or recommend. We had a plumbing emergency just last night and a tech was at our house within about 2 hours. Even after working a full day, he was so polite and professional and genuinely seemed like he wanted to help. We will continue to use them!

Chase was amazing! Our unit was having issues and it was extremely hot inside our home. We called and Chase called back very promptly. He was at our home on a holiday weekend in less than an hour. He was very professional, patient and kind. I had several questions and Chase was so patient in answering all my questions and making sure I was clear on everything.

I’ve had Davis Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric out on two separate occasions, once for heat pump repair and once for an attic fan evaluation. Both times were excellent experiences. Chris B. did an awesome job diagnosing and repairing my heat pump issues. The cost was also much more fair than the quoted cost from a competitor. For the attic fan evaluation, Ethan and Brendon were excellent. They evaluated our current system and made fair recommendations based off their experience. It was refreshing to see a company that doesn’t invent issues in order to upsell you when you don’t need it. I would highly recommend Davis to anyone and will definitely use them again in the future!

Our Heating and Air Conditioning unit was not cooling, we called Davis and they responded the next day. The technician, Brandon, was very professional and knowledgeable of the situation. We decided to put in a new system because ours was old, so Kevin came out and help us to make a good decision and choose a system that would best work for us. Kevin was extremely nice, and he did not pressure us into a system with him. He gave us several options for systems and financial options. The installers, Christian and David came the next day and put in our system. Those young men got the job done in one day. They were persistent to get our system in and running. Christian made sure I understood our system and he was very patient to make sure I didn't have any unanswered questions. They made sure no mess was left behind in nor outside of my home. I had a new system installed within 3 days, that is amazing, we really thought it would take weeks. Thank you Davis for such great customer service!

We came home to a floor full of water in our hot water heater closet. Water was pouring out of our filtration system, so we immediately turned off the water main. We just moved into our house in September and called the company on the magnet of the hot water heater, not knowing any service providers in the area. That company told us they could see us in mid-January! When I asked if they could send any after hour service, I was told there was no room to see me and others in the area also had issues they were dealing with. I did a quick Google search and called Davis. It was after hours and not only was their answering service amazing, kind, understanding, and attentive, I heard back from the on-call plumber, Alex, within 15 minutes. He was out in an hour and was professional, quick, thorough, and had us up and running in under an hour. 100% recommend!

Josh was the technician who discovered the crack in our heat exchanger he proceeded to notify his superior and that evening Dakota came to visit us and spent over an hour to explain everything after he checked everything out. We immediately trusted his easy going personality and knowledge
He presented our options and we agreed on a new system four days later our new system was installed.
They were completed by 5 PM everything was explained to us our installation crew Davey and his associate were great explained everything
We are amazed at the heat our new furnace generates , the thermostat is so easy to use and we love all the features

Dakota and Travis are very respectful and professional. Dakota spent A lot of time with me to reconnect the Honeywell app. It was more than a little confusing but he made it happen.

They are very prompt in responding to your call about a problem. We called with an AC problem and they sent a tech out that day. The tech was Dakota and he was an extremely nice and knowledgeable young man. He explained all of our options and stayed until he could get all the answers we needed. This is a good company to deal with and the people are extremely courteous and friendly.

I called Davis because we had an issue with a weird smell coming through our air vents shortly after moving into our new home. The representative and dispatcher took time to understand my issue and demonstrated urgency with coming out first thing the next morning.

Daniel called me on his way out and asked me a ton of questions to ensure he understood what was happening, especially since I wouldn’t be there (my mom was).

Daniel went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Upon initial inspection, he couldn’t uncover the root cause. This is where most people would have stopped and just said “we can’t help you.” Not him! I generally do not participate in surveys, however the experience I’ve had with this company was absolutely amazing. The ladies at the office were a complete pleasure to deal with and the Tech’s Joshua and Adam were The most professional, knowledgeable and humble guy's that I have ever dealt with professionally. We had to order a part Adam went to Roanoke pick the part up and come straight back to our house to get our air condition fixed in the middle of a heat wave, and the news said the real feel yesterday was 108°. My elderly mother lives with us and has health problems, these guys took that very serious and got us taken care of. Adam made two trips to the house and I absolutely cannot say enough good things about both of these guys ! Dakota was great. He called to let me know he was on his way and how long before he arrived. He went above and beyond to explain why he recommended to have the ducts cleaned, he even showed me pictures, and because of him, a possible fire hazard was identified. I asked the cost of cleaning ducts and was surprised that the quote wasn't much higher. Within 24 hours the appointment was scheduled in just a few days out. Quick and easy! Dakota was also thorough and took the time to explain exactly what was going on, I never felt rushed or pressured and it was definitely not sales driven. I would recommend Davis and definitely Dakota to anyone needing their services.

Davis Heating sent someone for same day service, even though I called at 530pm. They offer non-emergency service until 8pm. Daniel was the tech that responded and he picked up the needed parts, and had the issue repaired the next day. He also responded to calls and texts promptly. We were pleased with the service overall.

David and Alex, put in new commode and kitchen faucet today.
They were on time, did excellent work in a timely manner. Cleaned up and carried out the old commode for us. They also Put in a new water pressure tank last May for us. Isaiah with the assistance of Danny were very prompt. They were very thorough and did a great job checking everything on our heat pump/ac and doing maintenance on our generator. Recently had two new systems installed. Excellent service from initial estimates through installation. The entire Davis Heating & Air team is personable, capable, competent, and professional. Dan came out on a Saturday afternoon. Arrived promptly Was very friendly and knowledgeable about the problem. He corrected the Issue and left with heat working which was a great relief to me. Would recommend. We had just had a service visit from Davis yesterday and thought it was fixed but problem arose again so they had to return today. We were not charged the visit fee, only the labor fee. Hope the furnace behaves and this is a long term fix!! We have used this company for years.

Finally decided to get a tankless water heater. Chris made the initial contact and follow up was with Alex. They prepared an estimate and explained the process. Scheduling was quick and the installation was complete within days of the estimate. Though it was not good news, he was very helpful in coming up with multiple options on how to approach fixing/replacing my unit. I have a sales rep coming Monday to discuss pricing of a new unit. I had a good experience with Davis for a new heat pump purchase and install. I had 23 year old unit. The air conditioning wasn't working at all in a stretch of 90-100 degree weather. Two window airs were running non stop . I had an appointment with them on a Monday and my install was done that Friday. Great experience from my purchase from John S. to my installation with Luke N. and Nick H. John was knowledgeable and explained things I needed to know about a new purchase. Luke and Nick installed that new unit in a very hot yard and house. They were very professional and explained how to operate the unit before they left. I was happy to get quick service on replacing a heat pump right before it got really hot. Everything is running fine now. I also was pleasantly surprised that the entire process took only 1/2 a day; I was expecting more like a day for the whole procedure.

Having not been made aware of the benefit of UV light in addressing mold issues, and environmental conditions that stimulate its growth, we had mold growing in our "top-of-the-line system" in less than 5 years of service. Nevertheless, Davis Heating & Air provided outstanding response, having their Service Pro (Dakota Ruff) remove the mold, and install at a reasonable cost a UV lamp to prevent future mold issues. Dakota responded punctually, and very professionally explaining and responding to all my questions and concerns. Five star service, very pleased.

Love Davis! They were wonderful from start to finish. When our AC went out this summer they sent out a tech, then a wonderful salesman when we realized I needed a new system. He didn't oversell or pressure me into buying more than I needed. Recently, I've had some issues with the heat as cold weather settles in (not related to anything they did or caused) and they came out on the same day I placed the call, and even went out of the way to work around my schedule so I didn't have to miss work. All the techs are friendly and knowledgeable, as well as extremely careful in the house while climbing in the attic and carrying ladders around. Would definitely recommend and will continue to use them!

Great guys to call! I had no AC and called them. They came over that day to check out my heat pump; said it was fine so they checked my Freon levels where were also good. Checked my attic and said I did not have enough insulation up there which could be the problem. Nice to see that they did not try to sell me a new pump or fiddle with my pump and fix something that was not broken. Honest crew to call! Highly recommend them!!!
